Doing and making

I think I’ve figured out something so blindingly obvious that I feel like an absolute idiot… :)

The time when I feel closest to the gods – or nature, or almost anything else for that matter – is when I am *creating* something, actively *doing*. Whether it’s my writing, a performance, or a piece of craftwork (or even an experience, such as the camping trip my daughter and I took the other week), in the doing my attention is focused solely on the creation in my hands or voice, and on the one(s) for whom it is being done.

This is how I pray – I touch the flow of Awen and allow it to run through me, with kavanah.

It’s definitely going to affect how I think about my entire spiritual journey, that’s for sure…

My greatest challenge in that matter — getting started! Especially if I’m NOT looking forward to the job. Even what you don’t choose to do is part of the path. And always, I find out afterwards when I get to work — you know, that wasn’t as bad as I thought. And that’s part of the blessing you receive from just “getting her done.”
